About Clair!

Clair is a Boulder-based artist and science illustrator who is determined to highlight the connections between the mundane and the celestial.

Clair spent her youth skinning knees in the woods of Northern Virginia and painting fantastical landscapes in her mother's studio. Curiosity about the fundamentals of nature drove her to Asheville, NC, where she traded her paintbrushes for lab coats to study Chemistry and Biology for her Bachelors.

In 2020, Clair moved to Boulder to pursue a PhD in Biochemistry and dive deeper into how life formed on Earth. There, the two halves of her world finally merged: she began developing intricate graphics for her scientific research while spending her evenings painting the wonders of the natural world.

Today, her work serves as a lens through which the complex beauty of science becomes accessible and awe-inspiring.

A lover of all things green, Clair spends her weekends backpacking or planning her next adventure with her jungle-cat, Kiki, and a house full of plants.
